It’s Afrobeats derby day as Davido and Burna Boy who are two of the biggest Afrobeats artistes in history release new singles from their forthcoming albums alongside young talents like Zinoleesky and Asake.
Burna Boy announced he will be releasing his album ”Love, Damini” on July 1st at his sold out concert in Maddison Square Garden, New York, United States. He previewed a song on stage and announced to the fans it will be the next single dropping from his album. He revealed the cover art of his album as he released the song ”Last Last” as the next single from his album.
Davido is said to have been working on his album for a while now and he announced on Tuesday he will be releasing a single titled ”Stand Strong” off his forthcoming album. The song will mark Davido’s attempt at something different, an attempt at different sound to flex his versatility as an artiste.
In addition, Asake has been the biggest breakout artiste this year so far, his smash hits ”Omo Ope” featuring Olamide and ”Sungba” were met with critical reception, the YBNL Signee has made his mission to dominate the industry with good music.
Zinoleesky on the other hand who has been tipped to win Next Rated Award at this year’s edition of The Headies Award which is scheduled to hold on September 4th, in US with Bentley Bentyaga as the prize. He releases another single titled “loving you” to further cement his position in the heart of good music listeners.
The congestion of new music released today shows the growth of the Nigerian music industry, it sparked conversations about who is going to be dominant on Nigerian charts, with people tipping the young artistes to top the charts over the heavyweights even.
